Our Focus

The first step toward alleviating poverty is alleviating illiteracy. Education creates within each person the ability to support himself, his family and his society. This is why there is such a large focus on education at Rashidabad, where we have two day schools, a boarding school, a vocational training centre and the necessary facilities to facilitate and supplement education.

The educational institutions here are open to all students, and to make this possible, financial support is given to almost 30% of our students. Apart from the individual and his family, nobody is aware of who is receiving financial support.

Vocational Training

The DMKM Vocational Training Center caters mainly to women.

The DMKM Vocational Training Center for specific skill development, covering sewing & stitching, knitting and local handicraft work was launched by the DMKM Welfare Fund in November 2009 in the basement of the Khawaja Yaqub House. Three courses of six months each have been completed, from which some 125 ladies have graduated.

Funding for higher education

Depending on the availability of funds, students receive sponsorships to study MBA from the PAF-KIET or BE from NUST.
