Our Focus

The first step toward alleviating poverty is alleviating illiteracy. Education creates within each person the ability to support himself, his family and his society. This is why there is such a large focus on education at Rashidabad, where we have two private schools, a public school, a vocational training centre and the necessary facilities to facilitate and supplement education.

The educational institutions here are open to all students, and to make this possible, financial support is given to almost 30% of our students. While this support is given entirely on a need-basis, it is not disclosed at all. Apart from the individual and his family, nobody is aware of who is receiving financial support. We do this to build every student's self-worth and to avoid creating differences between students based on wealth and socio-economic status.

Non-formal schools in 30 villages in proximity to Rashidabad has been in vogue since the past 5 years. This has specifically addressed the needs of the village females. All books at these schools are provided free to the students.  Besides the 'Jugnu Style' education, which is tailored to their needs, they are groomed to develop a healthy and progressive mindset. It had been initiated by MBT, (later financed by the Rotary clubs of Karachi South and Canada and now financed by RMWO itself.

22 deserving students from northern areas have been inducted at YK Academy in October 2010. When they joined, they only knew their mother tongue. From this beginning, RMWO expects them to join mainstream education soon. Their entire expenditure is borne by the organization.
